12月3日,“挺立——刘永刚雕塑绘画展”艺术研讨会在李自健美术馆举行。来自全国各地的艺术评论家、艺术家齐聚一堂,就展览与公共艺术、城市环境等话题进行研讨。

今年9月30日,“挺立——刘永刚雕塑绘画大展”在李自健美术馆开展,23座高达6—11米的不锈钢喷彩巨型群雕亮相,“挺立”于天鹅湖四周的公共空间与美术馆展场内外,吸引了许多观众观赏打卡。展览持续至12月10日。

刘永刚,中国当代雕塑艺术研究院研究员、创作部主任。他出生于内蒙古呼伦贝尔盟额尔古纳的左旗根河,曾在中央美院跟随靳尚谊学习多年。他1992年赴德国学习深造,回归祖国后,以文字为媒介,进行艺术创作,广泛涉猎油画、雕塑、水墨、陶艺等门类。他在大胆吸取西方经典艺术的同时,又融入中华民族文化底蕴。他以汉字为原型,运用甲骨文、金文、石鼓文、小篆诸多元素,巧思妙合,最终创造出众多意涵深刻、奇特恢宏的汉字现代巨型雕塑。Liu Yonggang?is a researcher and director of the creative department at the China Contemporary Sculpture Art Research Institute. He was born in Genhe, Left Banner, Erguna, Hulunbuir League, Inner Mongolia, and studied under Jin Shangyi at the Central Academy of Fine Arts for many years. He went to Germany for further studies in 1992. After returning to his homeland, he used writing as a medium for artistic creation and extensively explored various fields such as oil painting, sculpture, ink painting, and pottery. He boldly absorbed Western classic art while also integrating into the cultural heritage of the Chinese nation. He takes Chinese characters as the prototype, uses many elements such as oracle bone script, bronze inscriptions, stone drum script, and small seal script, cleverly combines ideas, and ultimately creates numerous modern giant sculptures of Chinese characters with profound meanings and unique grandeur.

Through the overall presentation of works from different historical periods and stages, and a systematic and detailed theoretical analysis, it showcases to the audience the intrinsic driving force and closely related deep clues of the artist's continuous creation.

研讨会上,李自健表示,刘永刚汉字艺术的灵感来源于中国几千年的汉字文化,其中运用了甲骨文、金文、石鼓文、小篆诸多元素。呈现的展馆及周边环境中的汉字雕塑,虽然我们不能马上识别出字形,但当我们走到作品中间,能看到很多内容、产生很多感悟。比如,大家刚刚久久停留的“德”字雕塑,德行天下,德为先,挺立的至少11个“德”字都包含了中国的道德、文明和精神的深刻寓意。如今分布在土地上的23座汉字雕塑,每座雕塑、每个选址,都是我和艺术家刘永刚两个人用脚丈量的,很开心能在李自健美术馆呈现出刘永刚的这些艺术结晶。我相信,这些挺立的汉字,能够激发我们的文化自信,展现出我们对中华文化的敬仰敬畏。At the seminar,?Li Zijian?stated that Liu Yonggang's inspiration for Chinese character art came from the essence of thousands of years of Chinese character culture, which utilized many elements such as oracle bone script, bronze script, stone drum script, and small seal script. The sculpture works presented in the exhibition hall and surrounding environment, although we cannot recognize the corresponding text, when we walk into the middle of the works, we can perceive a lot of content and generate many associations. For example, the "Moral" sculpture that everyone just praised, "Virtue in the World, Conquering People with Virtue," consists of 11 "Moral" sculpture works, which contain profound meanings of China's morality, civilization, and spirit. The 23 Chinese character sculptures distributed in the venue were personally selected by myself and artist Liu Yonggang for their display positions. I am very happy to present Liu Yonggang's classic works at the Li Zijian Art Museum. I believe that these sculpture works of "Standing Chinese Characters" can inspire the cultural confidence of the Chinese people and showcase the spiritual outlook of Chinese culture.

金秋时节,“挺立——刘永刚雕塑、绘画展”在李自健美术馆以堪称重磅亮相的规模展出,我谨代表中国美术家协会致以热烈祝贺!向刘永刚和李自健两位艺术家怀以的文化理想和澎湃的艺术激情致以由衷的敬意!
刘永刚的艺术历程经历了由中而西,又从世界回归本土的探索与创造。作为改革开放时代求学问艺并成长成熟的一代艺术家代表,他的艺术思考始终处于东西方文化碰撞、交融的语境之中。早年在中央美术学院就学期间,他的探索视野主要朝向现代形态的西方艺术,形成了以表现精神际遇和赤诚内心的绘画语言;在前往德国留学之后,他更加直接地研究和借鉴德国表现主义艺术经典以及战后的新表现主义思潮,在作品中注入具有生命关切和文化叩问的沉思,将感性的意绪和挥洒似的绘画手法结合起来,使自己成为一种尊重直觉、直接表露的艺术言说者。但是,随着他对西方艺术了解的深入,他更多思考自身艺术的文化主体性问题,也更多朝向中国传统文化的厚土长河,从中汲取文化的养分和精神的能量。从21世纪开始,他从穿越文化边界的行旅转向立足本土,创立了汉字的立体造型并由此欲罢不能,持续地进行系列化、主题化的雕塑,作品也由小及大,从单一材质到多种媒介,进入各种公共空间,形成独特的艺术景观,醒目地通过象形文字的叠合交融,讲述中国文化的故事。对于刘永刚来说,这个转型是艺术的豹变,也是精神的升华,有着内在的构型逻辑,更接通了传统文化的根脉;有着强烈的符码视象,更彰显出当代文化的意涵。

In the golden autumn season, the "Stand Up - Liu Yonggang Sculpture and Painting Exhibition" is showcased at the Li Zijian Art Museum with a scale that can be considered a heavyweight. On behalf of the China Artists Association, I would like to extend warm congratulations! Sincere respect to the cultural ideals and surging artistic passion of artists Liu Yonggang and Li Zijian!
Liu Yonggang's artistic journey has gone through exploration and creation from the center to the west, and then from the world back to the homeland. As a representative of a generation of artists who studied and matured in the era of reform and opening up, his artistic thinking has always been in the context of cultural collision and integration between the East and the West. During his early years studying at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, his exploration perspective mainly focused on modern Western art, forming a painting language that expresses spiritual experiences and sincere inner feelings; After studying abroad in Germany, he directly studied and drew inspiration from German expressionist art classics and the post-war new expressionist movement. He infused his works with contemplation of life and cultural inquiry, combining emotional emotions with expressive painting techniques, making himself an artistic speaker who respects intuition and directly expresses himself. However, as he delved deeper into his understanding of Western art, he began to think more about the cultural subjectivity of his own art, and also turned more towards the rich soil of traditional Chinese culture, drawing nourishment and spiritual energy from it. From the beginning of the 21st century, he turned from traveling across the cultural border to basing himself on the local, created the three-dimensional shape of Chinese characters, and from this he could not help but continue to carry out series and thematic sculptures. His works also entered various public spaces from small to large, from single materials to multiple media, forming a unique artistic landscape, telling the story of Chinese culture through the overlapping and blending of hieroglyphs. For Liu Yonggang, this transformation is a transformation of art and a sublimation of spirit, with an inherent structural logic that connects the roots of traditional culture; It has a strong symbol visual image, which further highlights the meaning of contemporary culture. Since Liu Yonggang's "Standing Text" has been continuously published and exhibited in exhibitions, many art reviews have given high praise, and I share the same feeling for three reasons. One reason is that in the context of convenient dissemination of contemporary art information and global accessibility, the originality of art is becoming increasingly difficult. It requires rational research and judgment, as well as creative imaginative thinking, to be tempered in order to obtain one's own new ideas and independence. Liu Yonggang's textual images are supported by the vast sea of Chinese characters, and the combination of different characters becomes a new image of Chinese characters, containing the inevitability of connotation in the strange associations, forming an intertextual structure where both characters and meanings are displayed simultaneously. This is his artistic originality. Secondly, his works are generated in the form of sculptures, transforming flat Chinese characters into three-dimensional Chinese characters. In stroke design, contemporary visual experience needs to be combined, and in the construction of three-dimensional volumes, the aesthetic relationship between solid and blank needs to be solved. Liu Yonggang created new characters in a structured and reconstructed way, and made the characters stand up. Therefore, this is a successful creative transformation of traditional cultural resources. Thirdly, his works form a new visual landscape in the relationship with public spaces, and fully consider social and cultural connotations in the composition of words, emphasizing the expression of the ideal of goodness, beautiful wishes, and positive cultural energy. This triggers a sense of cultural participation among the audience, achieving resonance in social and cultural psychology and spiritual resonance. In this sense, Liu Yonggang's works reflect the era of contemporary art language expression. Liu Yonggang's strong artistic aspirations have led to the continuous expansion of his Chinese character sculptures, which have more eternal value in showcasing the virtues of Chinese culture on individual pieces, and highlight cultural confidence in a group array. In this exhibition, his works move from "standing" to "standing", which is a sublimation of his artistic conception and reflects the upright Chinese spirit in the upright Chinese characters. This exhibition is also a product of Liu Yonggang and Li Zijian's shared aspirations and spiritual understanding.
